What is the current focus of your company's sustainability programs?
We are aware of some internal or external pressure to be more sustainable, but we do not currently have any sustainability programs underway
We have some tactical sustainability projects underway, but we focused on building awareness with internal employees and potential sponsors
We have done some sustainability analysis and planning, and have some pilot programs in place that mostly focus on cost reduction and compliance with industry trends or regulations
We have a portfolio of sustainability programs underway in most business units and we are focused on leveraging our sustainability knowledge to improve and extend our product or service offerings
We have a system-wide sustainability mandate and we are in the process of transforming our business so we can be environmentally and socially restorative
How does your company externally communicate or market your sustainability efforts?
We do not really talk about sustainability in our company
We have some programs in place, but it is too early for us to communicate these externally
We create an annual sustainability report, but do not actively market our sustainability efforts
We have some marketing programs that communicate our sustainability efforts or green products
We are leaders in sustainability and this competitive advantage is reflected in our marketing and branding
Who is responsible for leading your company sustainability efforts?
We do not have a sustainability lead
We have one or two people who are interested in our company becoming more sustainable and often take the lead on responding to queries, but they are not formally responsible for sustainability
We have created a sustainability department with an appointed lead
We have a sustainability executive who coordinates sustainability efforts with business unit and department sustainability leads
Our entire leadership team is proactively responsible for leading our sustainability practices
What is the highest level of sponsorship you have for sustainability?
We do not have any sustainability sponsorship
We have a couple of director and manager level champions that are willing to sponsor individual sustainability initiatives
We have an executive sponsor willing to support the creation of a sustainability program
We have both executive and business unit leads who support sustainability at multiple levels
We have sponsorship at all levels of the business including CXOs
How are sustainability initiatives funded in your organization?
We do not have any budget for sustainability projects
We have some limited funding for sustainability projects that can show a positive return on investment
Our sustainability department has defined a set of initial sustainability projects that focus on efficiency and cost saving, some of which have been funded for this year
Our sustainability department has a budget for reviewing, prioritizing and managing sustainability projects, but most of our sustainability projects are owned and funded by the BU's or functional departments
Sustainability is integral to our business and each BU and functional department has a budget for continuous improvement and on-going sustainability initiatives
How do you address questions about green house gas emissions?
We are not able to gather the appropriate information
We can manually find some basic information, for instance from our facilities or fleet operations, but would have to scramble to find most of the information
We have a process to report on our buildings and fleet GHG emissions
We have a process to report on our company and tier 1 supplier GHG emissions
We have an automated process to report on all GHG emissions throughout our products' life-cycle
How does your company measure sustainability performance?
We do not have any sustainability metrics or goals
We do not have any formal metrics defined, but we have started to identify some areas of impact
We have defined a formal set metrics that we use track our performance
We hold ourselves responsible for meeting a specific sustainability goals
We have corporate-wide sustainability metrics and goals that actively inform our management decisions
How does your company capture and report sustainability metrics and performance?
We have no way of reporting on sustainability issues
We can respond to a questionnaire, but have no formal reporting mechanism
We capture sustainability metrics manually in a spreadsheet and can create an annual sustainability report
We have a corporate sustainability reporting application that we use to measure and report performance against our defined metrics and goals
We have a corporate sustainability reporting application and dashboard that is integrated with our enterprise management systems and provides visibility into both sustainability and business performance
How do your company stakeholders (executives, employees, suppliers and partners) view the adoption of sustainability with regard to your business?
We have limited awareness internally and we struggle to see how sustainability applies to our business
We are becoming more aware of the need for our company to address sustainability
We are starting to understand the need to become more sustainable, but we are mostly focusing internal on internal efficiency
We are increasing our commitment to sustainable practices at all levels of the company, both internally and externally
We are fully committed to sustainability in all aspects of our business and throughout our supply chain
How does your company encourage stakeholders to adopt sustainability?
We do not actively encourage employees to adopt sustainable practices other than to save money
We have some grass-roots employee interest in sustainability and we have been trying to build awareness with potential sponsors
We have adopted a change management program that is focused on engaging internal employees and some additional sponsors
We have a change management program that targets both internal and external stakeholders to encourage the adoption of sustainability
Sustainability is core to our business and we build sustainability into all aspects of our business and we actively evangelize the adoption of our sustainability best practices and experiences
